This spectacular blown glass vessel was created using the challenging murrini technique. Patchen used both hot and cold glassworking processes to create this unique piece, which features murrini primarily created with transparent aquamarine windows surrounded by green threads and outlined by an organic matrix of white glass that glows in the dark. This sizable sculpture has great presence and a sleek, flattened profile. It is double-encased in clear glass for depth, optics, and stability.

Stabilized by its gently flared, satin-finished bottoms; for extra security, museum wax or gel provides a very firm hold.
