Arisaema Triphyllum
This fiber wall hanging is a recreation of a specimen photographed by artist Jenny Knavel at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Herbarium, which Knavel compiled, pressed, and affixed to an archival mounting board. Then, to craft this one-of-a-kind fiber representation, the the photo was printed onto cotton fabric using large-format ink-jet printers, resulting in a high level of detail. The fabric is then painstakingly cut, pieced together, and machine-quilted into a striking wall hanging, which has a sleeve sewn on the reverse for hanging.
