Artist Leslie Friedman's glass art displays three-dimensional aspects in each kiln-fired casting. Each piece is created by using multiple layers of opaque and transparent sheet glass, multiple colors and textures of glass frit, and colored glass cane. Each piece goes through several stages of high temperature kiln firing; the final firing is a face-down composition in which Friedman layers each piece, creating depth in each casting. The result is a beautifully organic, impressionistic cast-glass image. This glass sculpture piece is framed with metal and reclaimed wood.
