Openings Triptych III
A Set of 3 wall pieces is made of 95% hand-cast abaca paper. When the paper has dried and is gessoes the artist applies a white joint compound mixture which when dried quickly will create a beautifully cracked surface. After darkening the cracks she covers the surface with encaustic wax (beeswax and dry pigment) which makes a smooth blended surface.
Due to the nature of the work each piece is unique and will vary slightly. Each is wired and ready to hang and weighs 5 lb. They may be hung horizontally or vertically and look exceptionally well when staggered.
